Proj. 4 Walking Field Trip: Lovejoy Fountain


Please remember our basic rules for staying safe on our walk.
  • Look both ways and follow crossing signs. 
  • Look out for cars, street cars, bikes, etc. 
  • Be aware of the people and situations around you. 
  • Stay off of private property and out of private businesses. 
  • Don't climb or jump off of anything. 
  • Stay within a two block radius. 
  • Stay with at least one person
  • Keep shooting! You should have about 100 photos to work with for this project. 
  • Return to our meeting point by the designated time. 
  • Remember you represent Lincoln. 
The walk is much further than previous walks. 
We will meet at the northeast corner of the Lovejoy Park: 
Period 5: 9:00          
Period 7: 1:30

COLOR and Grids!

Project 3: Slideshows

Here are step-by-step directions for completing
the two different parts of this project. Here is a video about

We will engage with mood and grids more when you
have a folder of at least 50 images to work with. I recommend taking
one image that you have already taken and go through the steps on the
slide show exactly to get to a 3x3 grid.

Framing and Composition

Artists and photographers employ many of the following basic framing and compositional techniques when creating their work.  Here are some different kinds of composition:

  • Rule of Thirds
  • Frame within a Frame
  • Close up
  • Bird’s Eye View
  • Bug’s Eye View
  • Leading Lines
  • Diagonals
  • Filling the Frame
